Behind The Tiles Awards 2025 - Rules & Terms of Entry

By entering the Behind the Tiles Awards, you fully agree to and accept the terms and conditions of the awards.

General rules

  1. The awards are open to tilers in the UK and Ireland, aged 18 and over
  2. Entries must be submitted during the ‘nomination period’ as stated in any promotional materials
  3. Nominated projects must be complete and have been carried out in the UK or Ireland
  4. A nominee can nominate across several categories and can nominate more than one project per category, provided each nomination is made under a new submission
  5. By entering, we reserve the right to use, feature and/or share all submitted photos, quotes or comments in Behind The Tiles, Schlüter-Systems Ltd, Johnson Tiles and Fila marketing activities including, but not limited to, websites, social media sites and promotional materials.

Award Categories & Guidance

There are six award categories which are as follows:

  1. Tiler(s) of the Year - A tiler who has shown continued commitment to the tiling industry through their length of service, charitable activities, participation in education, support for the next generation of tilers or exceptional projects.
  2. Best Bathroom Project - A project which demonstrates exceptional use of materials and/or application of floor or wall tiles, in a wetroom, bathroom or cloakroom.
  3. Best Spa/Steam Room Application - A project which demonstrates exceptional use of materials and/or application of tile in a spa/steam room.
  4. Best Large Format Installation – A project which demonstrates exceptional use of large format tiles.
  5. Best Technical Installation - A project which demonstrates expertise in the use of materials for the preparation of the tile installation.
  6. Up & Coming Tiler - An individual who has begun their tiling career in the past three years and demonstrates commitment to the trade.

Entries

  1. Entries must be submitted at www.behindthetiles.co.uk
  2. Entries must be submitted before 23:59 on Friday 24th January 2025
  3. Entrants must submit details of the person/project they are nominating and include photographs
  4. You must have copyright permission for the photographs submitted
  5. We reserve the right to re-categorise a nomination if we feel it is appropriate to do so. We will inform you of this change.

Judging

  1. We reserve the right to shortlist nominations prior to any voting or judging in any category if it is appropriate to do so
  2. If a shortlist takes place, shortlisted nominees will be notified ahead of the final vote
  3. All categories will go to a public vote, followed by a vote from a panel of judges
  4. The judges panel will be made up of representatives from Schlüter-Systems Ltd, Johnson Tiles and Fila
  5. The judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into
  6. The winners will be officially announced via the @behindthetiles Instagram account and contacted to claim their prize
  7. Each winner must claim their prize within one week of notification. If the winner cannot be contacted or fails to claim their prize, Behind The Tiles reserve the right to withdraw the prize and pick an alternative winner.

Prizes

  1. Each winner will receive x2 shelves and a bundle of 30th Anniversary promotional items from Schlüter-Systems Ltd; one bottle of Fila's new Instant Remover and a body warmer from Fila Solutions; and a £50 voucher for Johnson Tiles Factory Outlet from Johnson Tiles.
  2. All prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered for any prizes
  3. We also reserve the right to amend the prize to an equivalent alternative. We will notify you in these instances.
